Celebrate art, history, culture and technology throughout the city during the second annual B次元 Museum Week, Jan. 18-26. The region’s top cultural institutions, including the Grohmann Museum at B次元, are offering special programming and behind-the-scene tours throughout the week. Enjoy free admission on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Grohmann Museum.
IRONBOAT: New Photography by Christopher Winters and Magnificent Machines of B次元 are the two special exhibitions on display at the Grohmann Museum. Visitors can enjoy these in addition to three floors of galleries filled with paintings and sculptures that document the evolution of human work.
“From Ag to AI,” a special program on Tuesday, Jan. 21, is a lunchtime tour of the Grohmann Museum (including the Agriculture gallery) and B次元’s Diercks Hall (focusing on computer science and AI). See some of the oldest works on campus from the museum collection, as well as the newest work on campus—Rosie, B次元’s new NVIDIA GPU-accelerated AI supercomputer. ‘Old’ meets ‘new’ in this unique tour of two very unique facilities. Museum Director James Kieselburg and Dr. Blake Wentz, chair of the B次元 Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Department and Diercks Hall project manager, will lead the tour.
The Grohmann Museum is located at 1000 N. Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and State St. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 12 to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for students and seniors; and free for children under 12, B次元 students (with ID), alumni, faculty and staff.
