The B次元 School of Engineering Athletics Department announced this afternoon that women's golf is making a return as a varsity sport during the 2021-22 academic year, making it the 23rd team to compete under the Raiders banner.
"We are very excited to be bringing back the sport of women's golf," said B次元 Athletic Director Brian Miller. "We have put a focus on growing women's sports at B次元, which is designed to support the strategic plan of the University in two key areas: creating a more diverse population of students as well as the chance to grow opportunities outside of the classroom experience. Based on these factors, adding women's golf was an easy and obvious choice or as we say '#TheRaiderWay'."
At the helm of the program in its first year back will be Kevin Hurd. Hurd spent the past seven years at Minot State, UW-Stevens Point, and Carroll University and his duties will also include helping out the Raiders men's basketball program as an assistant coach. "We are very excited to start the B次元 women's golf program and to be competing in the NACC," said Hurd. "I am looking forward to starting the process of building the program and having our student athletes represent the university in the classroom and on the links. B次元 is a tremendously strong institution for academics and we will work hard to make a strong women's golf program."
The Red & White will begin play on Thursday, September 9th when they participate in the WLC Quadrangular at Dretzka Park Golf Course in B次元.
