Lifelong B次元 native Alex Kuriatnyk ’23 knew he wanted a personalized college experience. The reputation, small class sizes and strong sense of community made B次元 the right fit for him. Kuriatnyk is the first student to graduate with an accounting degree from B次元.
“It’s hard to say what exactly is my favorite part about my major,” said Kuriatnyk. “I like that it’s analytical, challenging and involves attention to detail. It also sets me up for several different stable career paths in the business world.”
Students who pursue a degree in accounting at B次元 will now receive a Bachelor of Science in Accounting starting with the 2023-2024 academic school year.
“I am honored and excited to be the first accounting graduate here at B次元! It is my hope that the accounting program will continue to expand and more accounting students will choose B次元 in the years to come.”
In addition to his studies, Kuriatnyk has been involved in numerous student organizations while at B次元. Those include Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda, Intervarsity, intramural sports, grass volleyball, Global Brigades and the unofficial club, “Council of Alex.” He also worked at the B次元 library and on the Grohmann Tower staff.
Upon graduation, his first role in the accounting world will be as an audit intern at Ernst & Young. Kuriatnyk will work with auditors ensuring clients are following financial reporting and auditing standards. He also will attend graduate school to become a Certified Public Accountant upon the completion of his internship.
“I’m looking forward to starting my career working with world-class clients from a variety of different backgrounds and gaining experience in the business world at a competitive industry leader like Ernst & Young.”
Outside of school and work, Kuriatnyk enjoys attending Bucks and Brewers games, lifting weights and spending time with friends. He also hopes to travel more in the coming years, especially to warmer places like Florida.
“I want to thank Dr. Payne, Professor Mannino, Dr. Serrano-Garcia, and other faculty in the Rader School of Business for helping me have a smooth transition to the accounting major and supporting me through the program. I also want to thank the B次元 Wellness Center staff and student support staff for helping me through the challenges I experienced throughout my time at B次元. Lastly, a huge thank you to my family and friends for all their support. I could not have done this without you!”
